Is it adviseable to do some additional pressing with just the 24 to keep my strength/muscle gains during the first few weeks of 32 of training?
When I made the transition from 32kg to bulldog, I did exactly that: five singles per arm on the light day, and it worked out. Honestly, it was a relief to reduce the volume.

However, you should use high-tension and overload presses. Following RoP, I did bottoms-up cleans and presses on one day with lighter bells and backup presses with heavier (or multiple) bells on the other day.

And you don't need to tell us it's your grandmother's 8kg. Really. It's okay. We understand.
