  1. New cycle today

    I'm going to start another PTTP deadlift cycle again today. Started a new side press cycle yesterday @ 20 lbs. There was no improvement in both the previous deadlift and side-press cycles. The only good thing was that I didn't wrench my shoulder doing the 50 lbs side press. Spent the past 3 days re-thinking my cycle strategy. I think that I will do the 4-steps-front-3-steps-back wave cycle for the side press and I will do a flexible wave cycle for the deadlift. This 600 lb deadlift target ...

  2. Starting new cycle today

    I will be starting a new PTP cycle 2day. Will start deadlifting with 360 lbs and start my side press with 20 lbs. Hope to go past 450lbs in my deadlift cycle and I HOPE to make it past 50 lbs on my side press without wrenching my shoulder again

    BTW I'm thinking about buying a KB soon after Christmas. Hopefully by then, I'll have my $$ in order

  3. Update on progress

    I have been doing PTP for the past 5 months. I have been pleased with it so far. 270-440 lbs in that time span is amazing to say the least. Still not too pleased with my side press though. 50 lbs in 5 mths?? Sounds like a problem there.

    Anyways today is 3 x 3 sets of false grip pullups, 2 x 5 sets of pushups on rings and stability ball and 3 x 5 sets of pistols. I'll keep doing this on my next PTP cycle which starts on Friday.

    Onward to 600 lbs deadlift

    Goals for today:

    Deadlift: 360 x 5; 330 x 5;
    Assisted pistols: 10 lbs left leg; 5 lbs right leg
    Weighted pullups: 12 1/2 lbs (either bar or rings);
    Weighted dips: 12 1/2 lbs (or assisted dips on rings);

    Wow!! From 270 x 1 to 355 x 5 in 2 1/2 mths on deadlifts. PTP is working so far. I also realize that I am jumping a little higher when playing basketball. Well, onward to 600 lbs!

    Goals for today:

    Deadlift: 345 x 5; 315 x 5
    Assisted pistols: 7 lbs left leg; 5 lbs right leg
    L- pullups: 3 x 5
    Assisted dips: 3 x 5

    The 340 lbs felt easy yesterday, so I hope that's a good sign for me. I aim to surpass 360 lbs on this cycle. I hope I make it to 400 lbs. Just hope my grip doesn't fail me. I feel that pretty soon I'm going to have to train my grip to up the pounds on my DL. As for the pistols, I've definitely come a long way. Following ...
