  1. 500!!

    by , 04-29-2009 at 06:14 AM
Yes, I have a new 1RM of 500 lbs. Pulled it on Monday. I'm really really thrilled. Imagine 270 lbs 1 RM was 11 months ago, seemed like just yesterday. I must say now that I am a PTTP convert. High volume, high rep sets to failure with power leakages in the body just doesn't cut it. High tension, heavy, low rep sets is the way to go. PTTP!!

    Onward to 600 lbs!!

  2. I don't believe this

    by , 04-22-2009 at 04:09 PM
Apparently, I had to wrap up my PTTP deadlift cycle today WITH NO IMPROVEMENT! This after being able to pull 470 lbs for 5 reps yesterday and feeling good on 4 of the reps, the last one I had to squeeze out. So I upped to 475 today. I was only able to squeeze out 1 rep AND FAILED ON THE 2ND!!! One measly rep *steups*!! And this is the 3rd cycle I've finished where I had to stop around 470-475 lbs. No closer to 500 lbs. This is getting ridiculously frustrating. It was so ...

  3. New PTTP cycle

    by , 03-28-2009 at 06:49 PM
I started a new PTTP deadlift and side press cycle yesterday. Started the deadlift @ 390 lbs & started the side press at 35 lbs. Hopefully I can post improvements the next time I post on this blog. Hopefully I can reach 500 lbs in the deadlift (current 1RM 475 lbs) and I can go past 70 lbs in the side press

  4. Oh well

My idea didn't work. Today, I was only able to pull 1 rep of 475 lbs in the deadlift. Thus that ends my PTTP cycle. I'll start back with the deadlift at 390 lbs and the side press @ 35 lbs on Friday. Hopefully, I will be able to reach 500 lbs on the next PTTP deadlift cycle

  5. Improvement in side press

    by , 03-21-2009 at 07:04 PM
I finished my PTTP side press cycle yesterday. I'm happy to report an improvement of 20 lbs on both sides. The structured wave cycle really works. Had to after being stuck on 50 lbs on the side press for so long.

Wrt to deadlift cycle, I'm going to aim for 475 lbs on Monday. I'll see how that goes, and depending on that outcome, see if I can inch closer to 500 lbs or if I have to stop the cycle
