What have we learned today.

Would have failed on that attempt to bench 200 for a double. I'm stronger, but I didn't hit the 170-210 that I would have liked to. Still, I was almost able to do my old 1RM at the end of a 54321 progression. On Oct 13, 195 at the top felt like a max attempt. So I'm at least 10 lbs stronger, maybe 15. I will reset to 155-195 and then hope to work up to 170-210 or 175-215 in another three weeks. I should be good for 225-230 at that point and will surpass that with a couple weeks of 5x5x5.

Squat were a disaster. I lost my footing on the way up with the second rep of the set of triples. I also discovered that 225x5 was about my 5RM! This was a test of my how 54321 would feel for the SQ. It felt lousy. 265x1 at the end felt like a ton. I was thinking that another dose of Smolov would push my squat into the mid-300 range at last. 295 is my comfortable 95% and I could probably do 310-315 still, but I would just assume 300 for my current 1RM and round down so that I would start with 205x9x4 on day one and end up with 265x3x10 on the last day.

I'd put pulls back on the shelf for a while. I also imagine that I would have to separate the BP and SQ by a few hours. BP in the morning, SQ in the evening.
