    Default Smolov Results

I just finished the evil squat program and it was totally worth the pain. Thirteen weeks ago I worked up to a 1RM of 255lb, at 6'1" tall and 165 lb. Today I squated 345 and weighed in at 171.

When I first read that the program could increase your squat by 100lb I had my doubts, but once I got into the first base cycle I realized what all the hype was about. This was by far the most intense training I've ever been through but it was totally worth it in the end.

Throughout the program I could literally feel myself gaining ridiculous strength, and not just in my legs. Also, my flexibility and verticle leap have improved greatly, and my legs have gotten huge!

I was fairly amature when I started, so for anyone out there that is new to squatting, or to this forum, don't be afraid to go for it. It worked wonders for me and I would highly recommend it for anybody.

    Thanks Pavel.

I'm sitting at work so I can't reference it, but is this program in Beyond Bodybuilding?

I had been squatting once a week for maybe two months before starting smolov. It took me a couple weeks into Smolov to really get my technique good. (Squatting four times a week will give you plenty of opportunities to improve your form)

Dude, that is badass. Is this Smolov program in Beyond Bodybuilding or what? That is one book of Pavel's I do not have.

I'm thinking about trying out the Russian Bench program from beyond bodybuilding, that will allow me to ontinue to squat but at a lower volume.

Check out my other post titled: "Russian Bench Press Training" and see if you have any advice for me.

I recommend that you get it. It's a great book, IMO.

I would highly recommend the BB book by Pavel, I am currently doing a squat routine from it, not teh Smolov but am considering moving onto that workout. A great book and well worth it. I am contstantly using it as a refernce guide
