    Default Weight plates with handles?

For swings you could wrap that handle in a towel and do towel swings, as Pavel showed in Enter the Kettlebell with a Kb. For snatches - I'm not quite sure... Maybe just snatch with a bar for safety... Power to you, anyway!

    Default Weight plates with handles?

Nooo, I have similar plates (not rubber , just with a handle on each side) at my friend's home gym (they came with the exercise bar). Swinging might be OK, snatching... not so much. The "opening" between the handle and the surface of the plate is to small, so I can foresee some very bad tears, or even sprains of the wrist. If your plates are different, then give it a go.

The handles of my plates also have a square cross-section (not cylindrical, like a KB), so that won't really help either.
