    Default bursitis in hips

Does anyone have any experience working with anyone with Bursitis in there hips. How do exercises like swings play into their rehab?

Apparently, it is so bad that the doctors are talking about a "procedure". Sounds scary to me.

    Default bursitis in hips

I had a bad case of bursitis in one hip a couple of years ago. Every now and then it still gives me a little reminder that it's not completely gone away, but I seem to have it under control enough that it doesn't affect me too much now.

I'm not an expert but I don't think it's something you can rehab with exercise. A lot of movement in the area is just likely to irritate it more. It's really a case of controlling the inflammation. In my case this involved resting it when it was bad, and I did some research into reducing inflammation through diet. Cod liver or other EFA containing oils seem to help. I also worked a lot on hip mobility once it became less painful.

Like I say, mine is still not 100% gone, so I'd be interested to find out more about this too.

She lives in Auburn, AL. The Doc who operates on this type of procedure is in Birmingham, AL. As far as a more specific diagnosis go, that is about all I know about her condition.

I live in Auburn, AL, so i think i can help.
Go to Doctor Bob McLindon (might be spelled McClindon)
He just did surgery on my knee and it is great.
He was very adament about trying everything before resorting to surgery (i wanted the surgery and was able to convince him to do it).

He works with a lot of the AU football players and other high level (pro, i believe) athletes, so hes good.

    Great guy too, IMO
(make sure you get into see him and not his partner, who i believe to be a loon)

    good luck
