I want to try the ROP again(and actually FINISH it) but my KB is too light for me to press it with any effectiveness. I can press it about 12 times with perfect form either arm. I can't at the moment afford a heavier KB. Should I just do bottoms up presses for my ladders?

You can duct-tape a couple of 2.5 lb. plates to your kb and start over with the ladders. And yes, bottom-up presses are a great idea.
