Good thing it hit him in the stomach and not the throat. Bad way to die.

    Hello, baederp:

Don't paste! Click me for: "Wow...I am speechless."

I hope that effort our lifter made right at video's end was not "last ditch." He was guiding the bar toward his neck!

    Peter.

    Default Wow...I am speechless.

What is this guy going for? Killing himself in his basement? No spotter, no safety racks, and a huge unstable load which he obviously has no business messing with yet...

See this is the dangerous side of freaking youtube and all the strength websites--Monkey see monkey do, monkey get his throat crushed and is found 2 weeks later by his mother or something.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - your going to this dumb at least have someone watching your back.

    Default Wow...I am speechless.

It looks like the bells are sitting on the floor when the bar is at chest/neck level so at least he can't get trapped under the bar...?

I'm not sure why he posted it since it was a total failure...

Like Charles Staley says, "every rep has a cost but not every rep has a benefit."

Know why you are doing something and make sure you can do it before you do it.

Lowering the bar to your neck is what vince gironoda would have recommended and it works the pecs more. I personally wouldn't do it with a huge unstable load but... I would do it when I am gaining weight and working on my chest.

I am not sujecting he knew what he was doing (I haven't even watched it) but I am informing you as to why people would lower in that direction.. Food for thought.

    Default Wow...I am speechless.

At least that kid squatting in his basement had his mother to come bail him out.

This guy is out of his mind. A good reminder of how NOT to train. He's very lucky. Looks like he was trying to lower to his chest, lost control and "wisely" (for lack of a better word) dropped that incredibly unstable load on his ample stomach.

Speaking of Vince Gironda, Com. Forsyth, I used to call him every now and then in the late '70s early '80s when I was making a foray into bodybuilding. He was incredibly helpful.
