    Default Some after contest fun...

I competed at Chris Rice's Gripmas Carol grip contest this past Saturday. I did poorly but I feel I shined in the after show that comes with grip comps

For starters, I tried furiously to heart a KH SSP #3 but it was not to be. A bloody thigh and it being stuck at 180-190 degrees after 10 or so minutes told me to just stop and hit the last one I have sometime in the future. DAMN! I still wanted a victory so I decided to try the double twist that Chris Rider does after seeing(and recieving) some of his shoes this past Saturday. This is just a very easy 5/16x3/4" #2 sized hand forged shoe.

    Those legs got short quick!

I also managed to start a DC1 unbraced, bent a Shiny whilst laying flat on my back, snatched the beast for a few both hands, and FINALLY did my first proper front split. I found out I have a 4ft standing high jump and a 7'8" long jump(which beat the competitive high school long jumper in the crowd's all-time best by 1" ).

Two last things, does anyone know what a "full" Dinnie stones lift is? Do you just have to get them both off the ground convincingly like a hand & thigh lift or do you have to lockout and have a little hold at the top?

And how did Durniat do with his 200 in 10min 32kg snatch attempt?

    Default Durniat

I don't know his total numbers, but I heard that he did not make his 200 rep goal.

Didn't Philip Davis post a video on here of 202 in 10 minutes with the 32kg?

That's a bummer Man, he couldn't have been too far. At least I couldn't imagine he was too far off. That really sucks though.

I just talked with Andrew, 138 snatches. Ouch, not even close. He said he'll be giving it another go at the Arnold in March. WISH HIM LUCK!

Well done Zack! Turning a day that does not start out strong but making it end strong takes incredible mental strength! I have no doubt that by the time you reach my age ( just turned 26) you will be up there with the top benders of this crazy world!

About Durniat, its a real bummer! he is one world class strength athlete!

And i'll see you at the Arnold in 09!!
