I'm currently experiencing a similar effect due to swinging a 24 kg bell with 17 kg of extra weight: after just a few workouts with it the 32 kg feels very light, not to mention the 24 kg.
Indeed, if I'd only work with the 32 kg it would always feel heavy, not just sometimes. I can't press it yet, but I don't doubt that heavy swings will help me closer to that goal. For some reason, I never thought of practicing high-tension techniques before the actual work sets or a
PR attempt, besides wiring yourself up with a heavier weight. I'll have a go with them before the next
PR attempt! Thanks for the tips, Shank.
Also, congratulations on your
PR, that is awesome strength there. My best is 14/14, too - just minus 16 kg and the wool gloves.
