Default Now I know the Yankees are going to win the WS.

I just saw a pic of the new NY Yankee workout room and they have a nice row of Kettlebells (non DD, unfortunately). I'm glad to see that they are catching on more and more in mainstream pro sports.

Click on the link and find the pic of the new gym.

Hey Mike. I was wondering where you've been.

Re: Yankees. I love 'em but that row of kettlebells has better chemistry than that team.

LOL. They'll win 105 games then get swept in the first round of the playoffs.

For a few years now I've helped facilitate the USAW sports performance coach course at West Chester University. The last two years we've had a few of the Mets S&C coaches take the course. Even though kettlebells are mentioned in the course materials, and even though we do a full day of practical med ball and plyo instruction in addition to the WL exercises, I haven't been able to convince the course leader to allow me to demo KBs. Maybe this year...after all behind every final no there is a yes.
Professional ethics forbade teaching the Mets staff incorrectly...go Yankees.

The problem with the Yankees the past 8-10 years has been picking up free agents that are past their prime. They have concentrated on their own farm talent the past few years, and may surprise everyone this year.
My son was a Yankee farmhand in 2005 and 2006, and they spare no expense, even for their farmhands. They receive piles and piles of workout clothes, and other Yankee stuff at the beginning of spring training. If you had to buy the clothes, it would probably be $500-$1000. Other teams might give you a pair of shorts and a shirt.
It's just been in the past 2-3 years that they have been developing their own players in their farm system.. guys like Joba Chamberlain, and Phil Hughes.
Watch out for the Yankees the next few years.

    Default Hi Bill

I've been laying low, working out a lot. I've been working on double 24KG MP, renegade rows with the 24KG and DLs (working on increasing from 2x BW), plus snatches. I've been busy, haven't posted at all lately. How have you been?

I'm still waiting for them to call me up. I'm 43 and totally washed up, but I still think I could outdo what Pavano brought to the Yankees. I'd wear the pinstripes every day if The Boss would just call me up.......

I'm sure you're better than Ian Kennedy.

I have a really bad hip right now, so I'd say I'm probably even with IK. My 11 year old can take him, though. -JAG
