OK... I know how a lot of the information given to you from the CK-FMS is, well, mindblowing. I know that every time I meet up, talk on the phone, or exchange more than a couple of minutes with Gray Cook (and/or Brett Jones, MRKC), it rocks my world.
As I've said publicly before, I've never felt more lost and more hopeful at the same time than when I deal with those 2 guys. But they're really good at giving the rest of us a trail of breadcrumbs to follow through the forest.
In fact, they've given us several, and they're all outlined here:
Kettlebells Los Angeles: What do I get if...?
This series is NOT something a corrective exercise specialist should be without. Having said that, once you own it, WATCH IT and RE-WATCH IT. There's far more information in each of those DVD packs than you could possibly imagine.
Many of the questions that are coming to me about the FMS or CK-FMS correctives can be CLEARLY answered by watching and studying those materials. It's like having Brett & Gray remind you on your monitor or TV of what you just learned!
I'd like to repeat a few points from the last
CK-FMS workshop:
1. Trust the screen and let it mentor you. Read the bullet points. If the testee didn't meet those bullet points convincingly, then score low.
2. Bottom 4 (almost always) fix top 3.
3. Use the tests we gave you to narrow down your corrective strategy even more; e.g., the standing toe touch with 1 foot on a step or box
4. Mobility FIRST
5. Don't add good Hard Style in the presence of dysfunction. Clean up the movement pattern first, and then refer back to your red-yellow-green sheet for exercises that will give you or your client the greatest benefit.
