Default CC and " a little " xtra for legs

    hi
anyone else but me who "needs" xtra work for the legs being on CC?
im not the strongest squatter ( 105 kg 10 set#5reps ) and have had problems doing heavier squats. my lowerback was my weak point. but i did a lot of bw squats and pistols with 16 kg kb. so i went relatively easy through the leg section and is now doing the master step-intermediate 2set of 10 reps. but it doesnt do much for my leg size, and maybe!!! there is to little legwork in this otherwise brilliant program. so after my pistols i have incorporated a legworkout from T-nation: TMUSCLE.com | Hungarian Oak Leg Blast
i sold my barbells, dumbells and weights after getting the CCbook, so im using a tube(inside the tire) from a carwheel, filled with sand and some lead. it weighs 30 kg which is 1/4 of my max squat.the hungarian guy uses 1/3 of his max ( ca 65 kg) but i wanted to be a little conservative
ive done it 3 times until now: 2:00,2:20 and 2:40 min going for 3 min tomorrow. and its fantastic. my legs feels sooo strong and have grown close to an inch since the first workout of 2:00.
so if you have the energy(very tough) you should try it
    regards kim

If your thighs have blown up an inch already, there is some serious merit to your methods.

Several people seem to be developing their own "hybrid" workouts based around Convict Conditioning, with some serious success.

I note you use an "odd" object, an inner tube filled with sand. Given that the coach discusses "functional" variants in the lower body chapter (car pushing, fireman sprints), I would say that this kind of workout is in the spirit of what he is communicating.

    Well done, Kim.

    thx Jack
im following every thread concerning CC
even when i squatted 105 for reps my legs never felt this good.actually my whole body feels better than in a long time after starting CC.
i use the harness from and old backpack to hold the innertire.

I'd highly recommend the tactical lunge also for leg endurance, once you hit 30+ reps with the 32kg it really starts to hit you.

i know the tactical lunge. but for me there is no big difference between that and normal lunges and the payoff isnt that great if you want your legs to grow.
but as an excellent conditioner as you mentioned.
    thx for replying

No probs. My legs always blow up with high rep TL. I've pretty much replaced squats with TLs. Found them to be more functional for sport ( Ice ice hockey ).
