    Sophia,

Let me start by laying out my personal bias and admitting that I audibly wimpered when I read "tone" and "bulk me up" and, especially "without muscle" in your question. Ok, with that out of the way....

What is "bulky" is so much in the eye of the beholder. Obviously. You certainly won't get the quads of a male bodybuilder without doing some serious, concerted, heavy lifting focused on hypertrophy and maybe supplemented with substances frowned upon by the DEA. But if you ask the Gap's Skinny Jeans developers or the makers of most pull-on tall boots, you can get "bulky" if you do something as simple as ride a road bike a couple hours every other weekend. Don't get me started. Leigh Peele did two excellent posts on this subject:

Bulky Muscles and Female Training | Leigh Peele
Bulky Muscles And Women - Part Deux | Leigh Peele

So nobody here can tell you whether PTTP, CC or any other program will be better than any other in terms of toning (ack) and not-muscling (double-ack) without knowing what you, Sophia, have in mind when you ask the question. It might be that neither program will give you the dreaded bulk, by your definition, and you should pick based on what you like to do for exercise. Or it might be that only Tracy Anderson can give you a workout that will make you happy.

But as you've seen in this thread and as you can find in about 1000 other threads on this website if you just search CC and PTTP, either program will make you STRONG. And in my book at least, strong is sexy.

Yeah, IF YOU COULD DO them like those guys, you would be bulky like them. But you can't, so it doesn't matter.

Everyone who does calisthenics is huge.....NOT.

Stop trolling and go back to your tree.

Aw jeez, Faizal, you're totally right, and I walked right into it. "Black guys in the play grounds" should have tipped me off. Feeling gullible.

Oh well. Trolly, what a pathetic way to spend your days.

Come on guys, let's be nice.

I assume she was watching videos of the bar-barians or something and those guys are pretty big. If she's not interested in looking like that, I can see why she might ask about it.

Default Avoid CC for your Goals

    Sophia,

That's a sensible question. Anyone who has seen some of the amazing ghetto gymnasts working the bars might be led to believe that calisthenics will automatically dish out huge slabs of muscle.

The reality is that if you want as much strength without muscle as possible, go with PTTP.

Being honest now, the volume and intensity in CC would put meat on a pencil.

But, as other posters have noted, there are other ways to do bodyweight strength training. You might want to even check out Pavel's Naked Warrior.

    Hope that helps.

That's true. If you want to avoid bulk, you should avoid CC. You'll want a heavy weight, low volume plan like PTTP or NW.

    Default Absolutely

I miss having a flat chest and giant shoulders. That's the best look for aesthetics. CC ruined everything, even though I can knock out pushups like a pro now.
