Thread: Sadness

    Default Sadness

My wife and I were so blessed to have a great dog named Max for the past 10 1/2 years. He was such an awesome guy. He died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday and we miss him more than I can describe.

If you have critters of your own, give them an extra petting today, you never know when they'll be gone.

I'm sorry for your loss. Our pup is 14 and has been with us since a month after we were married. 'Member of the family' doesn't quite capture it, does it?

So sorry for the loss of your 4 legged friend. I know and it's a terrible feeling. It's amazing how attached we get to them. My 5 year old is starting to go blind right now and it's making me sick.

Dave I'm really sorry about your loss. Dogs are such great friends...I wish they could live as long as we do.

    My sincere condolences, Dave.

I recently had to put down one of my dogs who had been suffering with cancer, and it's a very difficult thing to go through.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

    Dave,

    My thoughts are with you!

    So sorry to hear that.

I have lost several dogs over the years and had to put one to rest. They are still missed even though it has been years. They certainly leave their mark on you and become a part of your life...

Best bit of help I got was when my wife and I lost a dog and my Dad suggested getting a new pup asap.

I balked at it and so did my wife, it almost made me angry that he suggested it, but two days later we went to a no-kill shelter and picked up another puppy. It helped way more than I could say. The lose was still there (sitll miss T-Bo), but being able to direct some of that emotion toward a new little life in our house made it more bearable by a long shot. We still cried at times but the new puppy was their to lick away our tears. His name is Hopper. 5 years old now.

The new pup did not replace the lost one, never does, but it helps you redirect and realize life still has joy in it shared with friends, family and furry- four legged children.

Max was your buddy. I am sure he was blessed with as good of a life that a dog can get. Iv'e been a dog lover all my life. Presently have 2 dogs- Peppermint and Patti. Dogs have allways given more than they get as far as I am concerned. If sometime in the future you decide to get another, consider a shelter dog. They deserve a 2nd chance...Dennis

Sorry to hear that, Dave. We had a Mini Schnauzer and a Rottie for more than 10yrs each. We miss them to this day.

My thread "Guest User? Really" prompted some 6 pages of discussion on why Pavel's user account had been changed to "Guest User" status. John Du Cane answered in a forthright manner, and I thanked him for his professionalism in this very forum.

That entire thread was removed from the forum on or around August 26. I've been an HKC and an active, outspoken member in good standing for some 3yrs now, but I don't support this sort of censorship. Look for me on the public web.

    Dave,

Be grateful for all the memories and for the person that you now are because of those experiences.
