    Default CC New Blood

    Hello,

I have been training CC since October of last year. I never read the book from cover to cover I just read sections. I just discovered that I should not start the bridging or handstand push up series until I reach certain steps in the push up, squat and leg raises series. I am on step three in handstand push ups and step two in bridges. Last week I held the handstand for a minute three times with some rest in between. I feel like I'm getting stronger in the bridge. However the Veterano program does feel like it is a little too much for me. I was going to go back to the new blood program. I also did Good Behaviour for a short while. My question is what can I do while on the New Blood program that won't affect my progress. I can jog on the treadmill but I like to put it on an incline. Would I be overworking my lower body? I also have kettlebells. I have never been to a class but I have some DVDs and have been using them (KBs) for a couple of years now. I actually stopped using them when I started CC. How can I workout with the KBs and not affect my CC progress. Jumping rope is also an option. I have been trying to diet and exercise for years and I have not made a lot of progress. I would like to try to do things in a more of a systematic way so that hopefully I'll crack the fat loss code.

    Thank you

    Peace

There are probably as many opinions on this as there are people on this forum. Here are my personal views:
    1. Any cardio will do. I personally prefer progressive cardio like VWC, which would exclude jumprope for example. Paul Wade does the Good Behaviour program and a fourth day of stamina work like high rep, supersets, burpees or circuit (all bodyweight).
    2. I believe that the code to fat loss is in a ketogenic diet like Atkins.

I had good luck losing fat just from eating less. It's hard at first but, eventually, I find I'm just not as hungry anymore.

Com. kvlwsn- I was just reading through the Self Coaching sections of CC this morning. Paul Wade addresses how to combine weights in the Hybrid Programs section (pg 283).

I did not see anything about combining cardio type work with CC, but may have missed something. I've restarted CC as I'm coming off an injury and am back to step 1 and doing New Blood. I'm planning to combine it with the Program Minimum from Enter The Kettlebell. PM with the KB swings should be a great way to drop some body fat.

If you have not yet, I'd recommend reading the book cover to cover, straight through. Coach Wade really is writing about a whole system of training and it's worth understanding the full thing.

Yes, I believe he does mention cardio in some parts but his program is for strength training. You have to go elsewhere for caido, flexibility, diet info etc. CC is awesome. It does not matter to me if Wade is fact or fiction. The info is real. I did not read it like a novel but I have read a good portion. I see now why I need to read the whole book.

Thank you all for the replies....

I have been doing Super Joints stretches. CC; I do 2 exercises when I workout either pushup series and leg raise series, or squats and pullups. I alternate exercises each set. Then I do swings PM style.
