Default Does the search function work?

The advanced search function is over complicated and difficult to use. How do you search posts by a member, for instance bring up all posts a particular member responded to?

And why do you have to answer a security question before you submit a request?

The other system was far less complicated. What was wrong with the other search function?

I'd like to second this question. I have tried searching for numerous topics that had 20+ pages of forum posts before the redo, only to find there are supposedly no posts matching my search. Seriously? There are NO posts/topics/whatever matching "bear" "bear program" or "54321?" That's funny because in the old forum/ search function using those exact terms I would at least 20 pages of results. I know I'm complaining about a free service, but really, its 2011, DD has been around long enough to have a functioning, FUNCTIONAL, easy to use search function.

I have found also that the search function does not work. There must have been some sort of bug with the update because the only search results I get back are my own posts AFTER the update occurred. Humbug!

Yes, the search function totally does not work. The only way I can find to get to my profile is http://kbforum.dragondoor.com/forum.php and pick my name from logged in users. I can then find all my posts.

I only see posts from after the 'phase 1 redesign'.

I'm sure someone tried to reindex the old content, failed, gave up, and hoped no one would notice. Actually, I'd expect that they filled their contractual obligation and left DragonDoor with a broken web site, so John has to decide whether to hire them to fix their own mess or get a new consultancy who'll need time to ramp up. It's anybody's guess what'll happen.
