    Good question... was he doing them intentionally on the ball of his foot or because he was unable to do them on his heel?

    The "building the gymnastic body" book contains a picture of someone doing a pistol on the ball of their foot.I wonder what the official party line on this would be?

    I don't think he gave it any thought, he probably didn't even realize there was a right way and a wrong way. I think that's just how he did it.

    Gave them a shot today, feels just like a pistol with your heel planted except it required a bit more balance. I was expecting to feel more knee strain but was surprised I didn't
