If it works for you - go for it. Doesn't hurt to start and see where you're at, ability wise.
I was going to do 500/day - but that was too much.

42 swings takes me 1:30 (or so). . .I'm not quite to the point where I can just swing and knock it all out - which is why I break it up with other things. Towards the end it'll take me less time, I'll be more efficient, and I'll be able to move through the sets more fluidly and with less breaks in between.

    What gives?

So I've been doing the swings every day - I've taken 2 days off (last Thursday and Sunday) - and today I planned to do my normal routine, since I haven't done it in a week - take a break, and then do my swings for the day . . . but while doing my usual routine my back started to hurt more than it ever has - what on earth? I feel like I've gone an injured myself.
8 days off of my usual routine, doing Hardswing cycles instead, and I feel like I haven't worked out at all.

I'm a bit miffed - I wasn't wanting to reverse my progress. I'm taking another day off - and I'll do my routine again and see if my back improves. Worst case scenario: I seriously injured myself. Best case scenario: I'm a pussy and not in as good of shape as I thought.

Could be you are not physically ready for that high of rep count. Almost sounds like your form is not ready. Hard to say without ever seeing you swing.

I think you're right about the reps - I need to pull it back and take it a little slower for the next week - day off tomorrow.

There's one instructor in Arkansas and I think I'll call him up and set up a few meetings with him if he's available - I think my form is good but I need to check and make sure and since I have so much down time there shouldn't be any scheduling issues for me.

I'm assesing my physical issue to see if I need to head back the DR - years ago I use to have serious back problems and was suppose to walk with a cane, that changed when I started to routinely exercise. However - there's a chance I've reinjured myself. However, I don't quite think that's happened - I can do a lot of other exercises without any pain, tightness or issues in the back - I still was able to do renegade rows, tricep extensions, halos, curtsies and tactical lunges - Before, when I had my chronic back condition - I couldn't do anything at all without feeling any sort of pain. The 'it hurts when I do this' aspect makes me feel it's muscle-related . . . very likely that with all the swings, lawn mowing and so on I've just pushed a few muscles too far.
