    Default Your best workout advice...

Everyone needs advice once in a while, as some advice is worth remembering. If you were to give one piece of workout advice, what would it be?

Wearing Vibrams automatically elevates you to elite status. No further refining of technique needed.

this should be written in gold!

mine would be: don't take s..t serious, 5 medium workouts are more valuable than 1 hard one!

    Best advice? Just show up.

    1. At least 90% of success is just showing up. Showing up and getting in your workout is 10 times better than having the secret knowledge to do it a better way but putting off your next workout until "tomorrow". Better to be wrong and show up than right and stay home.

    2. Same thing for diet. Actually following any widely used diet plan, be it one of the many low-carb things (Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, etc) or going vegan , or even Weight Watchers will work if you just follow the directions. Its the diet version of just showing up.

So, just show up every day. You will do better than 9 out of 10 folks. If you want to do better than 19 out of 20 (or better) just do what Pavel or Dan John say.

    There ya go.

What he said, and don't forget:

    1. Recovery- I recommend 3-4 weeks of planned training by 1 week back offs using 50% of the intensity (load), volume, or heart rate for example.

    2. Stay hydrated.

    3. Sleep.

    4. Specialize in what you are trying to do. If you want to run a marathon, you best run a lot.

MY adivice is - Never Give Unsolicited Advise. Especially in the gym. Could be a problem if you are built like Barney Fife, and you interuppt some powerlifter in the middle of a set with your timely advise - and the power lifter is at the moment experiencing a bit of roid rage. As you are being transported to the ER with a 45lb hexbell protruding from your eye socket, you may consider witholding your advise until asked..hehe!!...Dennis
