Default Best (from personal experience) routines that improved heart rate/blood pressure?

Just had a physical recently and got back a heart rate of 82, which is something that doesn't sit that well with me. I know it's "healthy", but I'd like to simply improve my vitals to "a lot more healthy".

Less beer: check. Probably should be paying a lot more attention to my greens, too: check.

But does anyone out there have a routine THAT THEY"VE SUCCESFULLY used themselves to get better vital signs? Something that has astounded their doctors-that sort of thing?

I was thinking of trying this: 2x week of twenty minutes of Burpees, with the eventual goal of 200 in that 20 minutes.

I don't know if a kettlebell routine is feasible. I can only get to my 70# and 55# once a week (I could possible train Saturday afternoon and the following Sunday morning). I also don't know if they're the right weight for what I need to do. For the record, I can get a total of 48 one-arm snatches with my 2 pood in 5 minutes at a bodyweight of 210#.

I'd also be open to running, but every routine I've ever read about seems pretty abstract, and I've never heard anyone say they improved their vitals thru jogging routines or sprinting intervals.

If anyone out there has success stories reaped from specific routines, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

KB's are great for that, in my life anyway, as far as the ballistics go - Swings, Cleans, Snatches, Slingshots, Tactical Lunges, Curtsies - all that kind of stuff.

Full body motion anything - and daily activity beyond the workout.

I can tell u right now VWC hands done. I've taken my resting heart rate down from 68 bpm down to 49 and I'm only half way threw my 80 sets can't wait to see what happens when I can make a full 80. Bp is in the best ranges ever

Well, One hour strapped to a heart rate moniter seems harsh and try-able. Thanks for that!
