    Default Feeling the stupidity

    Comrades,

So I pushed myself to the limit on snatches this week and have barely been able to walk for days. I think I have a problem. I work out at a Crossfit Gym(I know) and am so pumped by the time I start my workout am finding it difficult not going to failure. It's like I have my set rep goal in my head and going under that is failure. Lame, stupid, un Party like I know,

    Any tips?

During this process how did your form hold? IMO if your form held true, you hit your goal and the only problem you have now is recovery...well it happens to everybody eventually. I remember my first 1,000 swing session with a 24 took me days to recover. Sometimes we simply need to test our limits. I am not saying this is a good or bad thing and i dont sugggest doing it often. If you did the majority of your reps with poor to dangerous form, tore hands and literally went until you could not snatch another...not smart! Understanding how to push your limits and still maintain self control in regards to safety and recovery is huge. Self control in a group setting like cross fit is hard for a lot of people. The mentality of " I must beat this other guy" during training and practice sessions is what leads to injuries. Just be smart! If you were "stupid" with that session...use it as a learning experience and don't do it again. If you were dangerous and escaped injury...consider yourself lucky and don't do it again. Look deep...you already know the answer to your question.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,is not an act but a habit.

    Yeah, stop doing that.

    The party is always right.

Your crossfit buddies may seem tough, but they will not protect you from Pavel.

    Obey the party!

    Keep in mind,
You've only got 189 days till your RKC.

Form was good as far as I remember. I just pushed to my limit. 24 kg ROP 5x4 C&P followed by twelve minutes snatches. I felt like vomitting afterwards. In any case, will try to be more sensible.

The worst thing to do right now, though, is stop swinging/lifting altogether. You can bring down your routine if you're seriously sore - after you rule out injury - but you must do something. Avoiding movement and using those seriously sore muscles for an extended period of time will prolong your recovery.

Thanks, yeah the plan is to be back at the gym Monday morning. Doing some qigong and mobility stuff until then. Will work the back bridge into my rountine this week(or wall walking) and not go kamikaze on snatches.

I did something similar when I first started doing bodyweight squats. It was three days before I could walk up the stairs normally.

It's an awesome gym and has a big selection of kettlebells. I just need to use better judgement.

In ROP, snatches are done on light day, and you "pushed it to the limit". Technically not ROP.
