I am very impressed. I've only been able to get 124 in 5 min with the 16kg. Now I really need to up my numbers.

Neghar can do the snatch test with the 20kg now. So I wouldn't worry too much about what she does with the 16. Likewise I have seen her do some complexes with 24s.

There's one girl who is head and shoulders above the rest - Asha Wagner. Then there are four who are very close together - Neghar, Karen Smith, Fawn Friday, Val Hedlund. All are great instructors, crazy strong and really, really great to hand out with. I've actually written an article about strong women for a magazine here and most of these girls get featured in it. It'll be on the stands soon, and available online in two months, when it does I'll be sure to link it.

Neghar wasn't wearing gloves BTW - those are socks cut so she can get her fingers through them, and that video was a long time ago. You can see in her more recent stuff that she has improved her technique to the point where she does not need them anymore.

I'm happy to take that correction.

Any women that passed the RKC is strong both mentally and physically. If you pass the RKC II, you are an elite athlete.

    Red face

I took a scan through this girl's videos, and I had to laugh.

You wouldn't believe the women I meet who think that strength training makes women muscular, masculine and ugly. Anyone who thinks that should take a look at Neghar!

Sleek, feminine and athletic, without being "ripped", "muscle heavy", or "gross". Beauty AND strength, like so many of the kettlebell girls I've seen!

It should be required watching for all novice females!

    Default Thank You!!!!

I just came across this thread and wanted to say thank you for such kind words and encouragement! I am astounded, I mean seriously shocked, every time I receive praise of this sort, and I always tell people the same thing: I do it because I love it, and because I want to inspire other females to find the confidence, self esteem and enjoyment that I have found through training. If I can inspire even just one person, I feel honored and humbled.

To answer the glove question-no I was not wearing gloves, but socks cut to cover my hands because I was preparing for the RKC and did not want to risk a hand tear. Before that video my technique was not what it is now and I had pretty messed up hands. I had Brett Jones take a look and he fixed some important factors in my snatch technique, which eliminated hand tears, but they were still pretty tender at that time. I could care less about "feminine" hands and now snatch the 20 and 24 kg bells with just chalk. I just didn't want to go into my level 1 cert with jacked up hands!!! I certainly don't recommend gloves or let any of my clients use them, but I am okay with socks for novices.

    Anyway, thanks again!
