I saw this on You Tube and always thought it would be a great way to use KB's to complement strength training.

She couldn't even control the bell on half of those swings, I'll ignore the fact that she's swinging cultfit style

That's why I thought this would be good for the 531 program. Clearly its the dynamic loading caused by the chute that is giving her trouble. Won't she eventually get stronger because of the chute. Isn't that what we are all really after? Too get stronger?

Or she could just pick up a heavier bell. 2 lbs more should match the added resistance of the chute.

cultift refers to the CrossFit organizarion. They do not swing "hardstyle"...specifically, i n that video, she brings the bell up to almost vertical (using a bell that it did not appear she could safely manage). I also noted a lack of snap and lockout to her swing. Adding a chute flapping around seems unnecessarily risky when one could work on tighter form and work up to a bigger bell or go with a double kb swing for a greater benefit.

If I want the bell to go overhead, I will snatch it.

The chute is at the very least gimmicky and at the wrost possibly dangerous. I love to swing a kettlebell but I wouldn't do that.

    Peace,
    Erik

The video of the chute is from Randy Hauer, former RKC TL. There are also videos of them using a chute on the Concept rower, kipping pullups, bike riding. Don't think it is intended to be taken seriously.

Double KB swings? You mean two at a time? Wouldn't that be dangerous? Sounds like that would be a good way to smash your knees.

Not at all. Take a slightly wider stance. One kb per hand. Start swinging.
