At the last RKC I attended, which was less than a year ago, the snatch test was moved to Sunday, and the Beast Tamer challenge was handled earlier in the weekend. It was, however, at the end of a long day, either Friday or Saturday, I don't remember which right now.

Al, although you're certainly stronger than me, I am in about the same boat as you - the pullup would be the easiest of the lifts and I don't think I'm far away from it now, the pistol is conceivable, but the press will be the hardest.

Al - if you need any ideas for the triathlon feel free to PM me. I've got one I'm training right now, have done a HIM before and this weekend will be riding 1000km for charity so I may be able to answer any questions you have about how to structure strength and endurance work.

Thanks for the offer, Andrew - it's good to know there is some crossover between the DD community and the tri world. As for my training, I have a good idea of what I need to do. I just need to, ya know, do it.

    2 questions for AndrewR:

    1) Did you ask each Tamer which skill they found most challenging?

    2) When's the book coming out?

It's not surprising it's an elite group. The more you work and progress, the more you realize how impressive it is.

    1) Yes, in most cases it was the pull up, although a few were worried about a lift simply because they didn't have access to a 48. For example, Jeff Steinberg only had a 40 to train with so didn't actually know he could get the press until the day. Shaun Cairns didn't have a 48 either and had to teach himself how to pistol so was unsure of a couple of lifts.

    2) You'd have to ask Dragon Door
