Sumo went well for me. Much more power in that stance than I expected. I hit 425, 455, and 475. Probably could have hit 485 or 490 if I had planned it better.

Ideally both should be close. You would not typically want to see 100+ pound differences between the 2 styles. During comp I would pull with what you are most comfortable.

Bill - do you live in or around Denver ?

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore,is not an act but a habit.

In general Aaron, I agree with you and I do train both. However, I think I'm at the point, where the two are probably going to diverge because my torso is so long, and my arms are relatively short. It's getting harder to pull conventional with a neutral spine, when my back is so close to parallel with the floor. I was doing rack pulls a few weeks ago, and while I could rack pull the weight fine with sumo for two reps, I ended up aborting the first rep of conventional since I was starting to notice more flexion than I care to have in my lumbar spine. At that point, I called it a day.

Bill, are you planning on doing the TSC at my place, then? In Parker?

I think it'll be a small event for us, as we didn't get the word out very well, but we'll be having it.

It'll be a poor showing for me as well, as I'm currently trying to do too many things at once and then banged myself up at the Spartan Race this last weekend. Oh well.

    Andy
