hahaha exactly. i've always envisioned bum transient life involving handstand pushups on the side of some highway while attempting to hitchhike...

When you put it that way...

Many of my goals involve different gymnastic and bodyweight stunts so I suppose it has to be bodyweight.

This reply might be its own post. Some of you pose the question "how would you workout in a post apocalyptic world?''. Well how would you train?
I know for me between some scavenging and some urban farming, I think I would stick to the program minimum.

"how would you workout in a post apocalyptic world". Living from this day to the next would be my "workout". With complete breakdown of societies worldwide with no governing authorities except thuggish bands or scattered hippie communes, no electric power, or infrastructure. MAD MAX would be the theme Finding food/water and a safe haven to sleep - would you really have the time or inclination to do the PM? Life would be TOUGH. Maybe Iron Age tough if not Stone Age. Certainely Dark Age with all the uncertainies. What we do today with regard to strength training is a result of us having free time on our hands and secure in the knowledge that we are protected by society. Having a hobby if you will. No hobbies in the post apocalyptic world I am afraid..Dennis

Thanks for the responses. Alright guys we're all heading to Pavels house (which I have no idea where it is) whether he likes it or not, when the apocalypse happens. We'l make an RKC FOB. Anyways, I would choose bodyweight if it was for longevity, I've made many excuses about not feeling like taking my KBs out. With bodyweight you have no excuse but injury and laziness.

I was thinking of 'I Am Legend' or 'Omega Man' with charlton heston.

Oh man I Am Legend would be cool. He pretty much had free reign of that city during the day, so he would have time for the Program Minimum.

I rarely do anything purely bodyweight. My pistols and pull-ups get some additional weight to make them more challenging. My push-ups are complimented with bench work. If I don't have a kb nearby, I use dumbells, rocks, barbells, whatever I need to to get the right level of resistance. I don't have any heavy kbs at my folks place, so I took a 2" OD water pipe, and load that up with Oly plates to do db side presses.

I've been considering going for full CC for a long time now. Just I always seem to get drawn back to my kettlebells. If you train bodyweight for a while you can end up being able do some super human stuff.

Kettlebells. I need my swings and my loaded carries. Also, getups and bent presses are too much fun. I'm pretty happy I don't have to choose though.
