Thumbs up Press PR, EDT, and Indian Clubs

I set a PR today in the MP - did 8 left 6 right with the 28kg and 2 left and 1 right with the 28kg + 5lb plate duct taped to the bell. I hit this PR while lifting no heavier than 16kg on EDT. Felt the MPs were quality - not junk - reps.

Finished 8 weeks of EDT with a Kettlebell no heavier than 16kg. Program was such:
Dbl FSQ alt Dbl Sntch 16kg (10 sets)
    windmills 8kg 3(5)
Dbl MP 16kg alt Pullups w/1 assistance band ( life line pullup revolution) (10 sets)
    Janda situps 5(5)

Windmills - ROM greatly improved. Can now hinge down where I can now touch my ankle bone or floor with the non-working hand where as before I could only get as far as the calf muscle. Shoulders are really opening up now.

I truely believe that doing the EDT even with that light of a weight and Indian Club instruction on alt days from "CLUB SWINGING ESSENTIALS" did the trick. My right shoulder has zero pain or impingement now. I can even throw tennis balls overhand while playing fetch with the dogs without the searing pain that i used to have.

Last two months were very productive..Dennis

Awesome Dennis! Were you following Staley's EDT program or another variation of it?

I did Mike Mahler's mod EDT w/kettlebells. I have some Power Blocks dbs so next time I will try EDT with the PBs as they can be more easily added to with smaller weight increments. Duct Taping plates to kbs is not very efficient...Dennis

Dennis, your post reminds me that I ordered the DVD plus 1- and 2-lb. clubs but the DVD got buried on my desk before I even got a chance to have a look at it - I'm going to try to make time to do that today.

Thank you - and, of course, congratulations on your PR press.

Steve, I have both the CSE book and dvd. I have had the clubs for several years but had only played around with them on occassion with no program structure - it was fun but did not really fix anything with my shoulder. Was not aware of my mistakes in their use such as sloppy posture, too fast of speed etc... I was swinging them way too fast and using both clubs when I should have been starting off with a single club. CSE gives that structure with progressions and provides 2 sample programs and advise for using CSE with other trng routines. After 2 months of CSE I no longer have night time shoulder pain. Can't claim that this will work for everyone but for me it was the best thing I ever did for my shoulder. And thanks to Brett and Gray for putting CSE out there..Dennis
