That is interesting. Looks fun, but some of those moves look dangerous.

Check out more stuff on his channel. He does sandbags and other kettlebell things. Those moves definitely aren't optimal.

    Thumbs up Zen Kahuna

    Hi all,

Zen Kahuna is undeniably not conventional...but he is very cool and switched on. I hope I am as vital as he is when I am his age

His stuff is pretty cool. I took a look at some of his vids a month or so back for the first time. Some of his moves seem dangerous (side plank snatches seem like the bell could smash your posting hand/ wrist when coming back down). But he is very innovative and clearly strong and in way better shape than me although he appears to be 10-15 years older.

Refreshing and some new stuff to try!!!

Some of his more unconventional exercises have been around for a while. I think some were done with heavy clubs first and then adapted for kettlebells.

I need to find one of those clubbells. I`m also going to put my beard in a braid. This man has kindled my fire!

Yeah, ZenKahuna is a kind of unique California character. Apparently a surfer dude who went to Nam in the Marines, came back with PTSD demons, got into some kind of esoteric psychotherapy that also involved vegetarianism and meditation, and worked out in what was referred to as "bodybuilding gyms" (not necessarily bodybuilding) for quite a while. I have also seen references to him as "Shihan" or "Sifu." I believe he has an MFC or similar counseling license with a Master's degree and a life-counseling practice in LA, and perhaps does some personal training on the side as well, again I'm not sure. His real name is Rocannon MacGregor and he has a book out about constructing a healthy organic vegetarian diet available on Amazon.

He has some interesting ideas. One of them is the "playout," by which he means a sort of intuitive, theme-based workout that's supposed to be stimulating fun rather than a tiresome grind. Seems better for health maintenance than strength development, but as we get older, health maintenance may have a lot to be said for it. He combines movements for a whole body "playout" and works it until his body feels like it had enough, doing more extended workouts once or twice a day interspersed throughout the day with "movement snacks," coffee-break length quickee workouts designed to get his pulse pumping and muscles fired up.

Doesn't seem to be interested in making money off his stuff, guess he makes enough in his day job. Frequently posts exercise videos also of his two partners, women about 15 years, more or less, his junior, who seem to love the LA groove they are in. More power to him, personally managing a relationship with one woman is hard enough for me, have to hand it to any guy dealing with two of them and their relationship. (Btw, I don't know specifically what he means by "partners," but I assumed he meant life partners, not just business partners.)
