    Default misdiagnosis, thank God!

I had posted not so long ago about my severe lower back pain and DDD diagnosis. I then designed my program to rehab and to work around this. after ~2 months and zero improvement, i managed to find a spine specialist who was an athlete and works with athletes who is covered by Kaiser (gasp!). it turns out that my disks are FINE. in fact, the exercises i was doing to avoid spinal compression had been preventing my injury from healing. i've started easing back into heavy squatting and deadlifting () and my back is already improving. i like pistols and i'll continue to give them some due, but i don't LOVE them like moving heavy iron. hell yes.

Bill - I wish you the best of health and strength with this new found lease on your back!!!

Sometimes I think DDD is just a catch all for when MDs don't know what's really going on.

Standard doctors are just educated guessers IMO.
I personaly seek several opinions from several sources before coming to a conclusion with an injury.
Glad you were able to see a specialist and your better.
