    Deep squatting with too much weight on the bar is bad for your knees.
    Deep squatting with bad form is bad for your knees.

    Deep squatting in good form with a weight you slowly built up to over time is not bad for your knees unless you have some kind of leg problem to begin with.

    Man I am so lucky to have my GP, he is in his 50's. One day at the gym, I saw him there and ended up going set for set on full deep squats with him. Like other guys have said, if your GP looks like he has never stepped foot in a gym, why would you listen to them about your health?
