Default Pike Athleteics Interview on Strength plus Endurance

I got interviewed recently by Allan Phillips of Pike Athletics. Like me he has a big interest in strength and endurance. Everyone seems to say you can only have one or the other. Well, having been in the military I know you need both. It's time to put these myths to bed for good and get people thinking that real functional fitness involves more than just standing still and lifting something.

Mostly I'm learning how old and useless I am! My body doesn't respond nearly as well as it used to in my 20s and I have to be very smart about when to schedule hard and recovery sessions.

I will say I am really enjoying adding fitness elements. It's easy to fool yourself into thinking you're in good shape because you can press X or swing Y for however many reps. But when you're 60km from home and your legs are shot you suddenly realise you're not actually fit at all. (and when the zombies come you'll be the first eaten).
