Default The Goblet Bent Press: the getups counterpart for clearing the hips

So I have been experimenting with a safer way to bent press.

I love the way the bent press works my hips through opposing ranges, and how it increases my active flexibility for sports. I don't care for the torsion of rotating my spine under load or the impingement issues that can arise depending on your morphology and fatigue level.

I wanted to be able clear my hips for reps without these concerns, for a while I thought the low bent pull was my option, but the angles are wrong for raising and lowering the weight comfortably. This lead me to the idea of a neck harness style bent pull (or windmill) but it didn't allow me to transfer the force to my arms which I didn't like.

So finally it occurred to me a goblet bent press. Which isn't a press at all, I hold a heavy kettle bell tight by the horns, then I go through the bent press motion with a tight braced spine (by which I mean no flexion, extension, or major rotation), once I've come back up I repeat for reps.

I've also tried the style of bent press where I drop the hips into a goblet squat and stand up, and a style where I pivot the hips around into a deadlift position still keeping the bell tight to my chest.

I much prefer these to the traditional bent press, and as I haven't personally seen them anywhere before, I thought I would share with the community and see what everyone thinks.

PS. I also like that I can use a much heavier weight, since I'm not Arthur Saxon and the point is the hips for me.

Andrew, I don't have any, but I have a very simple way for you to experience what I'm talking about.

Grab a friend and go up to the short sides of a long dresser
    Tip the dresser back 45°
Reach down with one arm to pick the bottom while stabilizing the back with the other.

It should come fairly natural if you actually try it, in order to grab high/ low you have to move your body out of the way.

I'm just sending my hips through a bent press motion while the bell stays in a goblet rack hold. (I'm assuming you do a style of bent press where you actually rotate the hips to be inline with the torso).

About the squat and dead lift, at the bottom of the bent press motion, I shift my hips into a squat or dead lift before coming back up sometimes.
