As I remember, there used to be more senior RKCs on this forum too.

Honestly, I didn't want to say it. But I think this plays the biggest role. With the departures of Maxwell in the early 2000s, and especially Pavel on 2009 (where a lot of RKCs migrated to SF, including Freides and Jones), the forum just doesn't have the capacity to give quality, "Do this" advice for Barbell and KB training. A lot of times, KB advice degrades into "just buy ETK". BB and DB advice is more about "Go to X forum", if it even gets a response.

With Al, Maelstrom, and Danny around, calisthenics questions usually get good advice. And if you summon Read for a question on running, he'll certainly give you some of the best advice I've ever followed. But when it comes to free weights, DD has lost some traction I think. I believe John has noticed this, and is shifting towards BW training more (especially with this new CrossCore concept) to tackle this niche. It's good thinking.

306pelusa you nailed it. But Dragon Door is widely known as a "kettlebell" site. You see kettlebells everywhere on the site - but far too many quality people knowledgeable in kettlebell training have left. Dave Whitely, Adam Glass, Pavel, Faisenlu and many others. There are a few kettlebell experts around but not like was a few years back. Maybe Dragon Door needs to rethink how they market their site so that it reflects more heavily into body weight training...Dennis
