I'm a bit skeptical of the vegetarion for fat loss thing. You can stuff your face with chips and fries and bagels and still be vegetarion. I know people who lost weight when they switch to a vegetarion or vegan diet but I can't help thinking it's because they're being careful about what they eat.

Along with vegetarian I would also agree that fries, chips and oreos not be consumed. No processed food. Make sure that sufficient calories are met daily so that actual starvation does not happen...Dennis

    No Oreos?

Paleo or warrior diet with lower protein and higher fats, or Mediterranean diet would be far better. You still melt the fat, you will lose muscle anyway, and cravings would be far lower than for a non-vegetarian trying to be a vegetarian.

When I started losing weight using Paleo it was mostly fat, but when I got below 200 lbs it was about 50/50 muscle and fat. Weight loss accelerated and I kinda lost control of the diet as I didn't want to lose weight that quickly. I put some weight and muscle back on and am now trying to lose at a more conservative pace to preserve more muscle mass.

I think what he meant without really considering the reality, is a sweet spot weight bell per individual strength and body size and moderately high volume.

    Diet is crucial of course.

Chris Hansen: I am doing pseudo vegetarian with the understanding that it is rather strict on meal choices. I guess you could call it Mediterranean since I allow the seafood.

I have been tracking calories and have easily kept around 2000 calories a day and this is about 500 - 1000 cals less than I used to eat (eye opener). I eat so healthy that I am rarely hungry and have zero cravings.

I avoid Oreo's because I can polish an entire package in about 10 mins...lol.
