Using poles you add to walking most of upper body muscles and increase calorie burn up to 40% with only minimal perceived effort. I first got into it as easy way to train most of paddling muscles for surfing and it worked surprisingly well for that. 3-4 sessions/week about an hour each and my paddling speed and endurance both dramatically improved. No longer surfing (live in the mountains about 850 miles to ocean) I still like it as an LSD cardio workout, variety from bike. (My knees no longer approve of running)

I mean entry level in the sense that it's recommended for beginners and, once you reach the simple goal, you can decide to move to a program that's more specific for your goals or work towards the sinister goal. Of course, the exercises in the program never go out of style.

So what is this Sinister Goal? It sounds like it would be intense, but I'm not hearing what it is.

I don't have the book with me now but it's the same as simple but with a heavier kb.

Ah. So does this improve a lot of things? I'm looking to get wind & running from this, at least. I don't have a lot of space to do steady runs in & I noticed a lack of spring in my legs. Maybe that's more of an ankle thing?

Same format i.e. 10 sets of one handed swings in 5 minutes, alternate sides each set. Rest a couple minutes then 10 TGU's in 10 minutes, alternating sides each time. Sinister = women-32kg swings and 24kg getups; men-48kg for both
