Default Best Size program in Beyond Bodybuilding

I own three of Pavels books: Beyond Bodybuilding, Power to the People and Naked Warrior. Iv been training a long time and weight 225 at 5’11” and deadlift 605 and squat 540. I was wondering which of size programs that Pavel recommends in Beyond Bodybuilding would you guys recommend? I always have loved low rep high volume training. Anyways I’d love to hear from you guys which of Pavels size program you’d recommend for someone whose at my level or which ones worked best for you in the past?

I’d love to hear from Pavel himself too on which is his favorite from his book! There were so many I highly recommend Beyond Bodybuilding ebook to anyone interested in size and strength!

I have many of Pavel's books. My goals however, are not geared to building mass and size. However, I can direct you to a very comprehensive and detailed book (not by Pavel himself) called PURPOSEFUL PRIMITIVE. Dragon Door carries it. Check it out on the products page. This book is fantastic with many programs, sets-reps schemes, eating plans. Even cardio for big guys. It also details the people who are BIG in the PL community and their programs etc. Hey these guys are SUMBITCH BIG! I have he book and I refer to it often....Dennis

Forgot to mention that I also have BEYOND BODYBUILDING. Its a good book too. Its just that imho Purposeful Primitive is a better book for what you are looking for. Some may disagree with me though...Dennis

Thanks for the reply. Iv seen that, it’s Marty Gallagher’s book right? I appreciate the reply. I really enjoyed B.B. so much there’s just so many programs haha I’m now 235 thanks to the Smolov I did for 6 weeks in it. Unfortunately I strained my quad. Anyways, I wanted to do Russian bear but Pavel is not clear on whether it’s a once a week program or a every other day or ever three days or what. The Delorme looked good as well.

Is no there no way to email Oacel and ask how to do these programs? I know he’s very busy man but I am curious with all the different fabulous strength routines he has, if someone was just going for pure size and had plenty of time to train and just wanted to be as big as possible (I know that’s not a popular goal on here guys; I am a former wrestler though for almost half of my life until college ended so now I’m enjoying being as big as possible in my 20s because once I get older it’s not healthy!)

Thanks for the response. If anyone’s had success with the programs for size let me know

Does Pavel not post here? Is there any way to contact him? I just don’t feel like spending more money on books lol. Has anyone tried the size programs in his books? And how many times a week is Russian bear done?

Pavel migrated to strongfirst.com but no longer posts there himself (too busy I think). But a lot of the folks there might know how to contact him directly.

If I remember correctly, the Bear is done 3 times a week.

Many years ago when this forum would have about 20 new threads posted a day, quite a few guys posted about the success they had with the DeLorme program. If you did a search, you'd probably find those threads. Seems I remember one guy gaining 10lbs after being on it. Just for fun, I tried DeLorme for a week once to see what it was like. Whoa, the day after that first Monday workout, while I wasn't sore, my body felt like it had been hit by a truck.
