Default Help! Painful jock rash. (No laughing, dammit.)

And I don't even wear a jock. Just shorts with built in support. The painful rash is located on the sides of the equipment, where a jock would meet skin at the crooks of the leg. I've tried vasoline type products to no avail. Washing several times a day doesn't help anymore than once a day.

It's worse when I run or walk which I do almost every day, but seldom more than 30 minutes.

Any advice. How about talcum powder?

    I'm serious here.

    Thanks

    Tim

    Seeahill,

Try to get Cruex. Burns like hell, but works. If it doesn't go away, you'll have to see a dermatologist. It is a fungus, and it can get quite nasty if you let it go too far.

    Regards

Gold Bond, the green kind. Helped stave off the jungle rot whilst in costa rica.

Also, go see a doctor. They have prescription anti-fungal stuff that will work fast to get rid of it.

You get around alot, so be aware that it is possible for jock itch to render one impotent. Scary, but true.

    Good Luck

Thre are bunch of products in your local supermarket.
Look at foot care section. You should be able to find LOTRIMIN,
it's good for Athletes feet and Jock Itch as well.
Will cure you in one day !!

Agree with the other comrades. I'd bet it's a fungus. Get an antifungal ointment or cream at the drug store.

Try to keep things dry down there, i think fungi and other nasties flourish in a humid warm enviroment. The green gold bond is a life saver, itll keep you cool and dry. If I do have a problem down there, Ive found tough actin tinactin to get the job done, but ive never had anything too serious.

Blue Star Ointment is good for what ails you. Always worked for me when I would get a similar condition laboring in the GA summer.

Default Gold Bond powder always works for me

I get that sometimes especially after getting very sweaty during a prolonged training session.

Gold bond powder always does the trick for me. If you get it on your twigs and berries the sensation can be a bit strong - although not painful.

Default If you satirize the VA KB meet too heavily ...

This post may come back to haunt you comrade

Seriously, doesn't sound fun; hope you recover quickly.

Default Thanks comrades. Lotrimin was available at the local store...

So I bought some and will use it as directed. I'll report back in a few days (everyone hold your breath!)
Rob: Satirize? Me? Let me tell you, a guy suffering severe jock rash has no sense of humor. (But, geez, it's at Garm's place and that's a big big target...)
    Thanks all,
    Tim
