Comrade Jay, the complex method is not just a circuit. Exercises are paired up to enhance each other's effect and to insure the transfer of gains to your sport technique. E.g. SQ 1-3x3@ 90% (high tension, increasing the neuromuscular system excitability), depth jumps 2x10 (ballistic loading), Thai pad knee strike (sport transfer). When it comes to simple, apparatus free techniques for the complex method in martial arts, see my about to be released Rapid Response Training with SWAT tapes.

Comrade Jay, the about to be released SWAT videos, Rapid Response Training, have the answer re complex training for martial arts. Re lifting, do front squats and C&Js for a cycle, then switch to RDLs and side presses. 54321 is a good format but increase the weight at least on some sets.
