Is it bad to perform KB swings and Barbell deadlifts in the same workout? I usually do close to 150-200 swings(one handed and 2 handed) and then perform %X% Barbell deadlifts(4-50 kg, Am a beginner). My back feels tight after this but would this affect me in some way?

    1. The post you're replying to is 6 years old (note the date in the corner).

    2. Can sometimes be done, generally not recommended to do a high quantity. If you're going to do it, do the deadlifts first.

Didn't notice that. Was I supposed to open a new thread?

ah.. I see. I'll keep that in my mind. I am presently in my break-in-plan. About to transition a little into Program Minimum. I plan to deadlift barbell weight on the days I practice the get-ups and not the swings. Is that a wise plan?I deadlift presently a weight of 40Kgs only.

I asked about doing 2 days a week of deadlifting while on PM a while back, and Pavel said it's fine. Especially if you're deadlifting 40ks, I don't see a problem there.

I use to have lower back pain too.
Then I got Mastering the Hardstyle Kettlebell Swing, by Mark and Tracy Reifkind.
They really break down the technique wonderfully.
What fixed my technique was not hinging at the hips until the kettlebell was there.
I was hinging a little to early and didn't even know it.
