Updating training log

by azmark on 07-06-2009 at 10:38 AM
Today I started doing my swings at 1:00 on/ :30 off. It was tough. It made more difference than I thought. For the last two weeks, I had done them at :50 on/ 30 off. I will add a TGU for a total of 7 on TGU days now. I have started adding the bridge to the first couple of reps, which adds some difficulty to the entire set.

No aches or pains.

Swings yesterday, TGU today

I forgot to make a log entry yesterday. It was swing day, and it went well. I'm getting better after my illness. I had more wind yesterday. I did 30:30 for 12 minutes, and worked up a sweat but no dizziness. If Thursday goes as well or better, I'll up the intensity a bit next week.

Today I forgot to hit 'start' on the gymboss. I took my time and watched my form for my TGUs. After I had done 4 on each side, I thought that was good enough. Maybe from now on I'll go for reps instead

TGUs today

Well, I tried to take the advice I've gotten from the experts and decided to really work on the basics. Today was TGU day. I focused hard on doing everything right and not hurrying. I set the gymboss for 5 minutes. I concentrated on keeping my shoulders in their sockets, leaned the bell slightly forward like Jordan said in his video, kept tension in my core and went slowly. Upon standing, I leaned forward for a little extra stretch in my shoulders.

Taking your time sure does take

I keep learning something new

Yesterday was getup day. I tried to pay close attention to all the details of my form. I noticed that I had not been holding my shoulders in their sockets as tightly as I could. When I did this, it made a big difference in the exercise. It changed the center of gravity enough that it was significantly more difficult to sit up. I'll keep working on this and trying to improve my getup form.

Something is better than nothing

I said I would post more regularly, so here's the second one in one day

The workout didn't go as well as I had hoped. What I failed to mention in my previous post is that I hadn't been laying off just because I was being smart...I had the flu last week and it's still kicking my butt. I started off doing my wall squats, halos and pumps, with an arm bar on each side thrown in for good measure.

I knew I wasn't 100% when I was winded after just the wall squats. When
