Default Balancing Nutrition Needs & Food Availability

The more research I do, the more I come to terms with the reality that our food system is broken and what passes for food is often a product, not food.

Anyone have any input on how you balance your nutritional needs as a highly-active muscle-building person with the desire to eat more WHOLE, LOCAL & REAL foods?

ie: it is legitimately hard to buy naturally-raised chicken without having to drive to a farmer's farm every 2 weeks & freezing. But we need our chicken!

Let's get a discussion going, I can't be the only one moving in this direction.

if you cannot make a chicken run, then two cups of beans have as much protein as a chicken breast. Plus the beans have the carbs you need for that post-training window of recovery.

Hell, you can have the breast and the beans. I'll take the thighs and legs!
