Increasing milk intake.
I want to ramp up on the milk intake, what are all the milk drinkers recommending, skim, whole, 2%? I am interested in increasing my size and strength. I have been doing ETK for a little over a year and have made significant gains. I started with a 16K, am working through the ROP with a 24K, and use a 32K on my variety days. I have considered buying RTK but it will still be a bit before I can pull off the SSST. Ok...I'm getting a bit off topic, back to the milk.

From what I have read, go with the whole milk (raw is better, but most of us cant get it). Theres something about the fat in whole milk that makes it better than the lower fat types. I am sure some people will chime in saying not to drink milk unless raw, but thats a totally different subject and I can sort of see it both ways ( I am a milk drinker btw, wish I could get raw though)

ROP is a good program for building muscle. I would highly recommend (if you aren't already doing so) to do the pullups alongside all of your pressing ladders and adding PTTP deadlifting on your variety days. Make sure that all of your lifts are progressing week to week.
I would say go with whole milk and at first just add a glass for each meal along with a recovery shake (whey or whatever) after your training.
If you are working this hard you want to just add enough calories and protein so that your weight slowly increases...say a pound or two a week.
That's how I'd do it.

Try getting organic milk though(grass fed if available), unless you don't mind getting a ton of drugs in your system and die early, or if that doesn't turn you off then it could get you some breasts due to estrogenic problems.

Three types of men have breasts. 1) steroid users occasionally (bi$%h tits) 2) Fat Men. 3) Men who've had surgery to look like women, therefore making them neither a man or a woman.....
You'll notice the list dosent include people who don't live on dairy farms or people who don't drink organic milk. Organic milk is better for you................................sure, whatever......... If you dont drink it rather than death culture milk you get tit's though? Thats a little far left for me. You want to spend the extra money on "Organic" fine( ya, Hippy! ) but dont do it thinking it's to avoid growing breasts.

The breast comment just gets a lot of men thinking about what they eat/drink, hehe.

So you just say incorrect shocking things just to get people "thinking"?
That's a pretty weak way to go about "helping" people. How about sharing things that are correct and if you don't know just don't say anything at all?
There is enough false information out there without crapping up these forums with it.

I have many milk choices here in Wisconsin, not of them raw unfortunately. Isn't it absurd that one can't buy raw milk in America's Dairyland? I could probably "score" some if I really tried. Licensed dairy farmers can consume raw milk and some dairies around here sell shares to help people get around the laws. There are several that will deliver too.
All we ever drank as kids was whole milk. I remember going to a friends for a sleep over back in the '70s and his parents were kind of hippies. We had plain Cheerios for breakfast and his Mom only let me put on one teaspoon of sugar. To add insult to injury they had lowfat milk. It was the first time I had ever tried lowfat and I could barely choke down the cereal. I vowed never to drink lowfat again. Here I am 35 years later drinking skim, yuk.
Whole seems so thick now but I'm sure I will get used to it again. Don't I need to worry about all the fat?

Mad
Don't worry about the fat as much as be aware of it. If you run a little soft, 2% 1% might be better. Or just take the call/fat into account and modify your diet from there. good luck.

in reference to Seb's flaming:
I am currently overseeing a doctoral student's reseach in regards to estrogen. There are many respectable sources documenting all the estrogen in factory-farmed milk. All you Warrior Dieters know that is not a good thing for men. I have not seen any references to milk causing man-tits, but milk, since it is pushed so heavily on kids, is linked to prepubescent breasts on girls. That being said, the sources I have seen say that you should still drink milk because the health benefits outweigh risk of tits (but what else would they say? They know you do not mess with meat & dairy if you want to keep your research funding).
I do not have the references, but the next time I meet with the student, I will try to score them for your reading pleasure.

I run pretty lean so I won't worry too much about the fat. Thanks for the input.
