    Default !st meal

I have done ESE for two weeks now with some good results. But would like some recommendations on the 1st meal back after the fast day. I have been eating my normal breakfast then fasting until breakfast the next day ( much easier to be ending the fast while im sleeping) and didnt know if there was an optimal meal, i seemed to be pretty hungry and overate 1 of the 3 days that I fasted. thanks in advance for any help!

What is the point in overeating after undereating? Doesn't that just average out to eating normally?

Anyway, I was sick on Friday and did not eat for 24 hours. When I awoke on Sunday I didn't make up for lost time and pig out; I just ate a normal meal (all my meals are the same, only differentiated by the time of day). I just had some mung beans, green beans and onions, some bell pepper, a handful of walnuts, about 60 grams of chia seeds and a liter of water. I did not really worry about replendishing this or that, or what have you. I just ate a normal meal and moved on with life. A few hours later I did four ladders with my 32kg, so I cannot see any problem.

    mnostle,
I've been doing the ESE as well, and reading on leangains.com, which I think actually fits my day better. Anyway, probably a balanced meal would be your best bet, maybe one a little higher in protein if you're trying to maintain (or gain) muscle mass. The guy at leangains has some good stuff on his blog about nutrition and pre-workout/post workout (fast breaking) meals.

From what I've read, as you get more used to fasting, you don't have the urge to overeat as much afterwards.

    Good luck!

    Yes, it would

OP, the key to using ESE for weight loss is to just resume eating exactly as you normally would. So the ideal meal to end a fast is the meal you would have eaten had you not been fasting at all. Hopefully that is generally a fairly balanced, healthy meal.

    Default thx

yes i guess i didnt explain it very well. i know its not the point to over eat after the fast and wasnt trying to, just was much more hungry than usual and over did it a bit. My real q was about type of meal, more /less protein, fruits only, just a genral guide to breaking the fast. which should be a normal balanced meal from what i gather from the replies thanks again
