    Default Dhea

Can DHEA help increase testosterone levels in the body? If so, should a person take it for 1-2 weeks then stop? Also, how much , 50mg, 100mg?

No statistically significant effect of DHEA supplementation on lean body mass, strength, or testosterone levels was found in a randomized placebo-controlled trial. See, among other studies:

Wallace, M. B.; Lim, J.; Cutler, A.; Bucci, L. (1999). "Effects of dehydroepiandrosterone vs androstenedione supplementation in men". Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise 31 (12): 1788–92.

There has been some indication that this steroid assists in diabetes but that is far from conclusive.

DHEA is prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Code. It's legal for sale in the US only because it is grandfathered. It was on sale as a dietary aid prior to the 1994 legislation that makes this class of drugs "prescription only".

I read somewhere that DHEA may help cancer cells to grow.
