    Smile cigerettes bad. pot good.

Does anyone who trains seriously smoke cigerettes? I mean 1-2 packs per day? Does anyone live with someone who smokes? If so, are you concerned about dying from second-hand smoke? Have you tried to quit? A television PSA commercial breathlessly ( from second-hand smoke?) announced that 50,000 people DIE every year from shs. They did not say if the deaths were worldwide or only in the USA. Although I do not like cigerette smoke I have never been fearful of being in close proximity of those who smoke. Its just annoying - thats all. My mother and father smoked while I was growing up. Hell, EVERYONE smoked back then. You older guys remember what every parking lot in America looked like? What was the number item of trash that was everywhere? CIGERETTE BUTTS. Today you can't even find an ash tray in a store if you needed one. In my grade school days - the number one art project in grade school was guess what? - A CLAY ASH TRAY. But pot smoking is cool and excepted. It is what lefties do after all. You know,if the smoke gets too out of hand I just leave. I will say that if I had small children I would not smoke with them around. Primarily because it sets a bad example. And I don't want them to start smoking because they saw me doing it. But I don't smoke. I see no appeal to that habit. Especially today. These 50,000 deaths. Did they just pull that number out of their ass? Is this just more skewed data that has been massaged and altered to fit more nanny stateism? The agenda must be advanced. If lies do the job - so be it. Its for the GG. Now I can hear nurse Ratchet clip clopping down the hall just waiting to find someone lighting up. She can't wait to put her self rightous wrath and "I am better then you" act on full display. Yes we will save you from yourselves even if it kills you!...hehehe!!...Dennis

I smoke, but not 1-2 packs a day. I was around people that smoked & not only did sports (mostly track, wrestling, and soccer), but I usually won. This was true in fights, too. I would walk around pretty much everywhere.

As I understand, that risks are overstated in numerous respects- particularly second hand smoke & the lack of focus on the chemicals as opposed to the tobacco itself. Honestly, I figure there has to be something good about them for the government to be fighting it that much.

The govt wants the tax revenue from tobacco. A pack of Cigerettes used to be about .45 cents in the 70s or 80s. I think in the 60s it was about .25 cents. I believe now with the increase in tax the cost is $6 or more. Correct me if I am wrong. And its the tax (which goes to govt) on the cigerettes that is primarily the increase. But liberals in govt also want a fight with "big" tabacco. Its all just political posturing. And the Republicans do the same bit with issues that they feel they can exploit. So they are conflicted in their thinking. They want the tax dollars, but they also want a fight with "big" tabacco. I wonder if second hand pot smoke is harmful? Boy if they attacked pot like they do tabacco would'nt that be a buzz kill...Dennis

It's more about malice than money, like most shit they pull. There's no real reason to presume that they're "innocently" chasing money & it's some neutral materialism (not to put words in your mouth, but that's what it seems everyone thinks).

Personally, I don't think someone hase to be "energized" with general viciousness to be a problem. It seems that if someone doesn't admittedly & remorselessly act for sake of pure cruelty, they don't get seen as bad & thus whatever they do isn't bad & thus it's wrong to counter those actions or hurt them in any way. Really, gratification is only an accentuating factor to begin with (ex: if someone murdered someone but didn't get any gratification, that person still gets killed).

Not quite sure what you are saying. Sociopaths and psychopaths both display ASPD anti social personality disorder. Inability to have empathy for others. They only see other people as a means for getting what they want, or as an obstacle to getting what they want. Some occupations lend themselves well to this disorder. Used car salesman, divorce lawyers, bounty hunters, repo guys, "news" reporters, and politicians. In any occupation really. People drawn to government work - functionaries, apparatchics, political hacks, and government officials. ( generally the entire democrat party and many repubs) are especially prone to ASPD. Its about control. Politicians and other socio/psychopaths want to have it all. Control freaks. This is why you get all this lunacy as far as policies implemented designed to gain as much control over you about what you can and cannot do and what you should think. Look at Hillary Clinton. She does not want to govern as president. She wants to rule as Queen. Believe me her enimies will PAY. She embodies socio/pschyopathological disorder. If she loses the presidential bid she will have a total meltdown on national television..heheh!!...Dennis

I don't smoke or drink alcohol and I don't care who does. I believe that we are living in a time when everything must be stated in the strongest possible terms to get notice. It is not enough to say that smoking may not be good for you. The anti-smoking crowd feels compelled to go into graphic detail about your certain painful agonizing death because you happened to be in the same zip code as someone who is smoking.
In reality, it has never been absolutely proven that everyone who smokes will have a problem. My advice is: wear your seatbelt, eat sensibly, get plenty of exercise, partake of adult vices sparingly and enjoy life.

You are a very sensible individual. Live and let live is the best way. It seems like too many people are wound too tight. Some even wait breathlessly for their chance to be offended by anything. Phoney puffed up sense of self importance ( could be me also!!!..heheh!!!) and the opportunity to show others that they care and want to make a difference. Anti-cigerrette Nazis and others who make it their business to know your business are everywhere. They are they Zombie Apocolyspe..heheh!!!...Dennis

My neighbors smoke and because of it we all have to walk through their stinking cloud. Replaced the weatherstripping on the doors and windows again and again and again...

ad5ly: You've got a good point there (the one posted by Maelstrom). I think it's an opportunity to go after someone, plain & simple. They're "anti non-self," basically. They don't like other people, what they do, or general reality (because extant circumstances are not their imagination).
