Creatine loading phase = bullcrap??

I've heard that the loading phase is really not required, and is a creation of manufacturers in order to sell more creatine. To clarify, the loading helps you gain weight, but supposedly someone on a load/maintain cycle and someone who just takes 5 grams a day would have the same gains in strength and weight after using creatine for 4 weeks. Truth or fiction? Sounds pretty truthful to me... (BTW, I don't use creatine)

The loading phase only speeds up your creatine uptake to within two weeks. But, taking a normal maintainence dose for 4 weeks will get you the same results. The whole idea reeks of scam.
