Feeling sleepy after lifting

Over the last several months I have been experiencing a need for short naps of about 40min to one hour duration. After napping I feel pretty good and fully charged. I do drink coffee earlier in the day, but these feelings of sleepiness are recent. I am happy with my strength gains and have been setting new PRs on most of the "big lifts". Question: is sleepiness post training a good or bad indicator of successful training?...Dennis

I don't have an answer for you but I get something like that. Sometimes in the middle of a workout I feel like I could just close my eyes and take a nap. Not sure what to think of it.

I would like to think post training sleepiness is a good thing. As my big lifts are greatly improved since I have overcome training plateaus in a big way.. My bench press has surpassed my best efforts from 30+ years ago. I am guessing that training for strength - low reps HEAVY weight can produce sleepiness shortly afterwards..But thats just my wild assed guess....hehe..Dennis
