If you are looking for a new twist to your workouts try Irish yoga. FYI you will need to consume copious amounts of beer and whiskie prior to the workout in order to properly loosen up. Hey Iv'e been there done that! I can laugh at this because I am of Irish descent. But I don't mind others joining in on the chuckles. Then after the yoga - do some Irish HURLING...heheheh!!...Dennis

It is funny but also sad. And the Irish get a bad rap about the drinking and fighting. I find that self deprecating humour is the best course. Like I said I am of Irish heritage. BUT I am also of Blackfoot Indian blood. You know about what happens when Injuns drink heap big firewater. I have seen Irish yoga practiced in Scotland, England, the Phillippines, Iceland and the USA. Seems like its quite the rage...hehe!!!...Dennis

I got a 23 and me DNA kit. Results came back on my Blackfoot Indian heritage. The DNA kit results revealed that I am less than LESS than 1 percent Blackfoot Indian. The remaining 99.9 percent is all within Europe. I am really bummed that I have so little American Indian DNA. BUT I am probably more Injun that Elizabeth Warren. heheheh!!...This kit also has info about health. And it also informed me that I have predisposition for musculature of a power athlete. Now, I will take most of this with a grain of salt. Don,t know how valid all this DNA testing is...but it was fun any hooo!!...Dennis

How can you be less than less than %1 of tribal blood? How many generations that that would take seems longer than the time they've been in contact with each other.

That's just what the report indicated. I don't know too much about DNA analysis. Perhaps they present it as a consolidation prize for most customers. Many white people claim Indian blood, as it is presented by their parents as true - and over embellish their "Indian - ness" because it is a source of pride and connection to a great and nobel race. Being less that 1% Blackfoot was a shock and disappointment - but my Irish DNA is solidly intact in Mayo, Donegal and Cork..hehehe!!!...Dennis

Cork is supposed to be nice. I was going to go there when I was in Europe, but I was running out of money & Ireland is expensive.

My sister got me the 23 and me kit for Christmas. She knew I was more interested in the health and well being DNA predictions than the racial ancestry stuff. To be honest I feel abit disappointed about the health/well being. Don't feel they were spot on about most things. For instance they claim that I have a less fear of heights than x number of people. I am terrified of heights. Also, they say that I tend to drink less coffee than x number of people - I am a most def coffee hound. And other stuff too..They do indicate that I have a slight disposition for type 2 diabetes and for alsheimers (sp)??…. But a far as race orgins go its irrelevant in the long run. Its about CULTURE not race. Today there are 2 main primary cultures...The modern Western Culture, and the Third World. The USA, most of Europe, Japan, Australia is in the western culture. Everyone else - it sucks to be you. It all comes down to TOILET PAPER. In the modern western nations toilet paper is a necessity. In the 3rd world toilet paper is a virtually non-existent and nowhere to be found. Its sad but there it is....And I suppose Cork is lovely. I have been to Northern Ireland when I was stationed in Scotland. That was pretty nice too..Dennis

It would take 8 generations to go from full blooded to less than 1%. At 25 years per generation, 200 years max. Of course, some generations were much shorter.

Seems like alot of people are getting these kits lately. Sort of wish I did not do it. I liked having the idea that I had Blackfoot heritage. But, like I said its pretty much irrelevent now. Best to be happy with who you are as an individual than to cling to superficial mythologies. Lastly, I am proud of one thing for certain in that I was born an American. Its hard to be humble when you are the best..hheheh!!...Dennis

I've heard of using cork for surfboard decks but never this HAHAHAHAHA.

But seriously, I've read many complaints in science journals and blogs about the lack of accuracy and over marketing of DNA testing. Truly huge potential, esp medically, but not yet fully realized. Tons of fun though!
